WHO IS JAE LOVE?

Jae Love is President of KnoName Media and staff writer for The Khmerican. Born in a refugee camp in Thailand, Jae came to America with her family in January of 1986 at age 2. Due to the rise of communism back in the late 60s early 70s, Cambodians were forced to seek refuge after their country was taken over by rebel communist parties following the end of the Vietnam War. Her mother, at age 14, was ordered by her parents to leave her home, a decision influenced by their fear of attacks by either the United States or Vietnam. It was unclear at that time who the enemies were. Jae's parents met each other on their way out of the Cambodia. Not sure how they were going to survive, they made a vow to one another that they'll make it. Arriving in Thailand in the early 80s, they decided to start a family. Making landfall in New York, the family was then immediately transferred to Arlington, VA where their sponsors lived. Her family moved around a few times but stayed in the Northern Virginia area finally settling in Herndon where they currently live today.

The middle child in the family, she learned at a young age that success comes with determination and the willingness to sacrifice certain things in life in order to gain it. Known as the nerd of the family,Jae excelled in school earning high honors in both English and History. With a passion for writing, she created JL Publishing, her own freelance writing business.
